Ed is a Florida licensed real estate Broker, who for the past three years has been with the highly respected commercial real estate services firm of NAI Realvest, based in Maitland, FL. He is also a successful real estate investor. Previously, Ed was President and Chief Operating Officer of Blackstar, LLC, a Washington, D.C. based television broadcasting company which owned a group of television stations affiliated with Fox and Home Shopping Network. Founded in 1988, Blackstar operated for ten years, under his direction, before a highly successful sale of its stations in 1998 to Bud Paxson and Barry Diller. Ed has also held the title of Chief Financial Officer or Controller for a number of companies and developed a reputation for great people skills, operational efficiency and integrity in financial reporting everywhere he served. In his capacity as COO and CFO, Ed was responsible for negotiating the purchase and sale of TV station assets, including real estate, valued at tens of millions of dollars. He was a Florida CPA and “Senior” Auditor with the international accounting firm of Ernst and Young, in its Miami, Florida office. He was also honored for his distinguished service as a U.S. Army Protocol Officer.
